I’m Karielys Acevedo, though most people know me as Kary.

I was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, and moved to Miami with my family when I was seven. A lot of who I am was shaped by both places. Puerto Rico gave me roots. Miami gave me diversity. Together, they helped form the way I see people, creativity, culture, and work.

I’ve been in the creative industry since 2012, but what pushed me to start this was not just a love for design. It was the frustration of seeing how many creatives are talented, capable, and full of potential, yet still feel confused, insecure, unsupported, or stuck. I know that feeling well. I’ve lived the pressure, the second-guessing, the learning-on-the-fly, and the weight of trying to do creative work well without always having clear guidance. Over time, I started collecting frameworks, lessons, and practices that helped me grow. What began as personal survival slowly became something I knew I wanted to share with others.

My background is a mix of psychology, religion, art, and design. I earned a double BA in Psychology and Religious Studies from Florida International University, along with a BFA from Miami International University of Art & Design. That mix has shaped the way I lead and teach. I care deeply about how people think, how they grow, what drives them, and how creativity can be developed with both intention and confidence.

Today, I’m leading in a few different spaces. I’m the founder and creative director of ACVDO Co, where I help build brands, creative systems, and ideas with clarity and purpose. I also serve at VOUS, where I continue to lead and contribute creatively in a church environment that has challenged me to grow in both excellence and leadership.

Everything I’m building comes back to one core desire: to help creatives make better work, lead with more confidence, and feel less lost in the process.

Making things can be fuzzy, clear out the hazy.
